Tip the person who served you.

Tap their badge with your phone, choose an amount, and it goes straight to them. All of it.

To tip is to tap

How it works

Three taps, about six seconds.

There is no app to download and no account to make. Not for you, and not ever.

1

Tap the badge

Hold your phone near it. A page opens. That is the whole download.

2

Pick an amount

£5, £10, £20, or type your own.

3

Pay

Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. Then you are done, and you can have a receipt if you need one.

The money

You choose £10. They get £10.

Not £10 minus a cut. The fee is added on top of what you chose, so it never comes out of the tip.

Where the money goes on a ten pound tip
Goes to the person you tipped £10.00
TipBop' fee40p plus 4%, added on top. Never taken out of the tip. £0.80
You pay £10.80

TipBop takes nothing out of the money you meant for them, and never holds it. The payment is made to their account, not to ours.

Getting paid

In your bank before you get home.

Not next payday. Not at the end of the month. Tips are sent to your bank automatically, a couple of minutes after someone taps. Including at 1am on a Sunday, when nothing else moves money.

A few minutes after the tap Your tips are sent
Usually within 30 minutes They are in your bank
Any time you like Cash out the rest yourself, from the app

Sending money that fast costs us something. It costs you nothing, and it never comes out of a tip. You still get the whole amount the customer chose. If your bank cannot take a payment in real time, add a debit card and it can; until then your tips come through on the daily payout instead.

The principle

Their employer is not involved. At all.

This is not a setting somebody could switch off. It is the shape of the product.

  • The money goes into the worker's own bank account, in their own name.
  • The venue never receives it, never holds it, and never passes it on.
  • It does not go through the till, a tronc, or payroll.
  • Nobody decides how it is shared out. You tipped one person, and that person gets it.
  • There is no manager's dashboard, because there is nothing for a manager to see.

If you are the one being tipped

  • TipBop is free. No subscription, and no cut of your tips.
  • You get the whole amount the customer chose, every time.
  • It is sent to your bank a couple of minutes after the tap, and usually lands within 30 minutes. Weekends and bank holidays included.
  • It is your income, so it is yours to declare. TipBop gives you a statement of everything you have received.
  • Wear the badge where people can see it. That is the entire setup.

If you are the one tipping

  • Nothing to install. No account, no login, no password.
  • Your card details go straight to Stripe. They never touch us.
  • You will never hear from us afterwards. There is no list to be on.
  • Want a receipt? Take one on the spot, as a PDF or by email.
  • The page shows a first name, a photo and a job. Nothing else about them, ever.

It takes about two minutes to set up.

Your first name, your email, and the bank account you already have. Then wear the badge, and the first tip lands the same shift.
